New England And Cape Ann Watercolors
You will see my watercolor paintings related to New England mostly Cape Ann. Cape Ann sits jutting out into the sea 25 miles north of Boston, Massachusetts. For over 150 years, famous artists have been coming to Cape Ann’s quaint and rustic towns of Gloucester, Rockport, Annisquam, Magnolia, Lanesville, and Essex to paint its beauty. I was born on Cape Ann and can track his family ancestry to fishermen of Gloucester. In creating my paintings I feel I have come full circle back to my roots.Tennessee, Mountains and Knoxville
I now live in East Tennessee and do paintings of there and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. I had spent countless vacations in The Smoky Mountains before moving from south Florida years ago. There are watercolor paintings of cabins, streams and Cades Cove. There is noting better than doing some painting or sketching with your feet in a cool stream! The Tropics And South Florida Watercolors
I have spent most of my years in South Florida sailing a Hobie Cat and other pleasure boats related to sport fishing and scuba diving. While diving I often collected tropical fish for my home saltwater aquarium. My favorite time of day at the beach is the beginning or end of the day before and after the crowds. My paintings often shown these low key times.Idaho And The West Watercolors
My travels take me to Idaho and the western U.S. to visit family and friends so you will see paintings from there too. The mountains of the west are so rugged and wild they are a whole different creative art experience than Tennessee. I have some new paintings in the works so check back when you can.The Art Of Wood Ship Model Building
The art of model ship building has been part of the building process for full scale ships for hundreds of years. I started building wooden model ships in 2017 and became a member of the Smoky Mountain Maritime Modelers located in Knoxville TN. This group builds museum quality wood ship models from scratch and kits. All models whether from scratch or kits start with blueprints and bulk wood that require hours of shaping, sanding, painting and rigging often taking months or even years to complete. I will be sharing some of my wood model ships and information about the the building process.
